英ファッション・ブランド「バーバリー（BURBERRY）」がニューヨークのマディソンアヴェニューに新たな米国本社を開設したことを記念し、マイケル・ブルームバーグ（Michael Bloomberg）市長は5月28日を「バーバリー・ディ（Burberry Day）」と認定。同日には新たな本社ビルに掲げられたブランドのロゴの点灯式が開催された。
市内のニューヨーク パレス ホテル（New York Palace Hotel）で開かれた記念パーティには、アンジェラ・アーレンツ（Angela Ahrendts）CEOやクリエイティブ・ディレクターのクリストファー・ベイリー（Christopher Bailey）らが出席。そのほか、女優のクレア・デーンズ（Claire Danes）やブレイク・ライヴリー（Blake Lively）、俳優のオーランド・ブルーム（Orlando Bloom）、モデルのリリー・ドナルドソン（Lily Donaldson）など華やかなゲストが姿を見せた。
